Dear all
My book Hearts and Bones: Love Songs for Late Youth is out two weeks from today! In the UK, it’s out in elegant and serious-minded hardback while Ireland gets the less celebrated but still-cool-in-an-underdog way trade paperback (demy, with flaps, since you asked).
I have a stash of author copies and I don’t need all of them. If you’d like one, just reply to this email with your address and I will post it to you, anywhere on this earth. I have seven copies to give away ( state your format preference – hardback or TPB – if you care about such things and I’ll try to meet it). I only ask that in return, you share something I’ve written either on social or to a friend and casually mention that I have a book out.
Here are some links to stories for from the book that have been published elsewhere:
I am doing a couple of events also. The first one is in Manchester at Blackwells Bookshop on June 21st at 6.30pm, with fellow short story writers Naomi Booth and Saba Sams. You can get tickets for that here
The next one is my Dublin book launch at Dubray Books on Grafton Streeet on June 23rd at 6.30pm. If you’d like to come to that, just reply to this email, I have capacity for about ten more people.
I’m also having a London launch at Waterstones Tottenham Court Road on June 30th at 7pm. If you’d like to come to that one, also just reply to this email – similarly, I think I can squeeze in about ten more, I keep inviting literally everyone I know, so let me know soon if you want to come.
I’m then doing an event at the Review Bookshop in Peckham on July 7th, in the evening, with fellow debut author Ania Bas, whose excellent novel Odd Hours is out this month also. I’ll share more details on that when I have them.
I’m also doing an Instagram LIVE event event with Bookclubs on June 28th at 5.30pm EDT (10.30pm in Ireland/UK). To access the event, follow @bookclubshq on Instagram.
If you’d like to support the book, pre-orders from your local bookshop or favourite online retailer really help. I’m also planning on doing some stuff about the book itself on Instagram in lead-up to publication, if you’re on there, I’m @niamhiam.
But mostly, I hope that you all are well and enjoying the summer.
Much love
Niamh
Hey Niamh
I'm going to repeat here what I told you the other day in my gushy phone call. I loved and admired the proof copy of Hearts and Bones that I read. You're a stunning writer of moving touching stories.
As ever
Ivan Mulcahy
Hi Niahm, Great title, great cover. I'd be delighted to get a copy and to share about it. Please let me know the best way to get in touch. Thanks - and congratulations!
