official goodbye
Hi all
Just a note to formally wind down this newsletter. It’s been great. Thank you so much for reading and responding. I hope everyone feeling underpaid and overworked in the industry realises that it’s not their fault. I’ll be leaving In the Read up so that people can still refer to it in case it’s useful.
I have started a new newsletter: it is here. It’s a work-in-progress but for now it’s about my work as a fiction writer and facilitator of other fiction writers. My overall aim is for it to be useful and short. I love Substack but I find it best suited to shorter bursts of info; we’re all spending too much time looking at screens. If you’d like to subscribe to Creative Erasure, just reply to this email letting me know. Or you could check it out when it goes live tomorrow.
Last few things:
I’m doing an event with Thomas Morris at the Cork Short Story Festival in a couple of weeks - tickets only €5 and are available here.
My book Hearts and Bones is now out in paperback. If you’ve read and liked, please consider leaving an online review, and keeping an eye out for my novel, The Amendments, which is coming in April next year.
I am also doing a yet-to-be announced event at Kilkenny City Library on John’s Quay, it will be on Saturday morning November 4th, keep an eye on the library’s newsletter/my social media if interested.
